I had some time to go through my own wardrobe during the lockdown. What I have realized is the importance of basic items.
Most of the items in the pictures are more than 2 years old. I am all for buying durable, long lasting and classic basics. If you are going to spend some money on a clothing item, it is important to go for simplicity, something that is classic and that is genuine (eg. leather, wool or linen). It is also important to buy the right colours. Choose 3-4 colours , according to your colour-flow, for your wardrobe and stick to it.
If you have good basics, you can add on with fashion items, accessories and items that reflect your style personality.
I LOVE my black denim, it is versatile and you can dress it up or down. Some of my favourite basics are:
-Black Levis jean
-Black leather jacket
-White linen shirt
-Black/tan leather handbag
-Tan trench coat
-Black/ tan ankle boots
Extras (cheaper items that you can replace each season)
-Fashion forward shoes (like the gold ones in the photo)
